1. Introduction
Welcome to  Parent Bridge . These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application (the "App") designed for co-parent communication. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility
By using  Parent Bridge , you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).

• You are legally permitted to use this App by a court order, separation agreement, or mutual written agreement with your co-parent regarding communication.

• You have the legal authority to bind your co-parent to these Terms via the connection feature, or you confirm they will agree to these Terms upon joining.

3. Account Registration & Connection

• Account Creation:  You must provide accurate and complete information (First Name, Last Name Initial, email). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

• Co-Parent Connection:   Parent Bridge  facilitates a private 1:1 connection. By inviting your co-parent, you confirm that you have the right to request this connection. We do not verify the authenticity of your relationship status beyond the email invitation process.

4. License to Use
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to use  Parent Bridge  solely for personal, non-commercial co-parenting communication in accordance with these Terms .

5. The AI Tone Guidance Feature (Advisory Only)

• Optional Nature:  The AI "Tone Guidance" feature is strictly optional. You are under no obligation to use it.

• Function:  The AI provides non-binding, advisory suggestions for alternative phrasing. It is designed to be supportive, not corrective. It does not judge, block, or alter your messages without your explicit action.

• No Warranty on AI Output:  Due to the probabilistic nature of machine learning, AI suggestions may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation . You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any suggestions.

• Final Control:  You acknowledge that you have full control over the send function. We never block messages based on AI analysis.

6. User Conduct & Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use  Parent Bridge  for any illegal or prohibited activities, including but not limited to :

• Harassing, abusing, defaming, or intimidating your co-parent or others.

• Using the service for any unlawful purpose or to violate a court order.

• Impersonating another person.

• Attempting to reverse engineer the App.

• Using the App to transmit malware or engage in phishing.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

• Our IP:  All content, trademarks, and software code provided by us are owned by Parent Bridge and are protected by intellectual property laws .

• Your Content (Messages):  You retain full ownership of your messages ("Input") and any resulting AI suggestions ("Output") . By using  Parent Bridge , you grant us a limited license to store and process this content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you (e.g., delivering messages, generating tone suggestions).

8. User-Generated Content & Chat History

• Content Responsibility:  You are solely responsible for the content of your messages. We are not responsible for the content shared by you or your co-parent.

• Exporting Chat History:   Parent Bridge  allows you to view your chat history. If you require these records for legal proceedings (e.g., court admissibility), it is  your sole responsibility  to preserve them (e.g., via screenshots, PDF printing) prior to account deletion or if the connection is removed. We do not guarantee that exported formats will be accepted by any specific court or jurisdiction.

9. Termination and Account Deletion

• By You:  You may delete your account at any time via the Profile settings. This will remove your connection and access to the chat history.

• By Us:  We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, or if we are required to do so by law or regulatory order .

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
PARENT BRIDGE  AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE .

11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, PARENT BRIDGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF  PARENT BRIDGE . OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) FOR USING THE APP .

12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

• Governing Law:  These Terms shall be governed by the laws of United States / EU, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

• Arbitration (Recommended):  To avoid costly litigation, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of  Parent Bridge  shall be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the [American Arbitration Association / JAMS], rather than in court, provided that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify .  YOU AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, AND NOT AS A CLASS ACTION.

13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms in  Parent Bridge  or via email. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

• Account Information:  First Name, Last Name Initial, and Email Address.

• Communications Data:  Your messages ("Input") and the AI-generated suggestions ("Output") sent via  Parent Bridge . This includes text content and timestamps.

• Usage Data:  Information on how you interact with  Parent Bridge , such as feature usage (e.g., tapping the "Check Tone" button).

• Device Information:  IP address, device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to :

• Operate, maintain, and improve  Parent Bridge .

• Facilitate communication between you and your connected co-parent.

• Provide the optional AI tone guidance feature (via OpenAI API).

• Monitor for and prevent fraud or abuse (e.g., spam, harassment).

• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features

• Opt-In Processing:  When you tap the "Check Tone" button, your message text is sent to our third-party AI service provider (OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating alternative phrasing suggestions.

• Data Usage by Third Parties:  We configure our API usage to ensure that OpenAI is not permitted to use your data to train or improve their services for others. Your data is processed temporarily to generate the suggestion and is not retained by them for their own purposes . (You must check the specific data processing terms with OpenAI/Firebase to confirm this setting).

• No Automated Decision-Making:  We do not use AI to make any automated decisions that affect your legal rights. The AI is advisory only.

5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances :

• With Your Co-Parent:  Your messages are shared directly with your connected co-parent.

• Service Providers:  With third-party vendors who assist us in operating  Parent Bridge  (e.g., Firebase/Supabase for hosting and real-time messaging, OpenAI for tone suggestions). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

• Legal Requirements:  If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or subpoena). Because you intend chats to be admissible in court, please note that data may be subject to legal disclosure.

6. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

• Storage:  Your data is stored securely using [Firebase / Supabase] services, which may involve servers located in the [United States / EU].

• Security:  We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

• Retention:  We retain your account information and chat history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within [30/60] days, unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
